Financial and professional business services provider Grant Thornton has launched a microsite aimed at prospective trainees.
The site, which was launched to coincide with the start of the firm’s graduate intake, has had more than 1,000 visits. It is part of the company’s efforts to reach out to a global market of talent from countries, including Pakistan, Australia and Egypt.
The microsite called ‘Spilling the beans’ has been developed by a group of Grant Thornton trainees as part of the firm’s social media strategy and aims to inform potential future hires about life as a trainee at the firm.
“We want our trainees to tell it like it is, and give them the responsibility early on in their career to create and deliver this element of our social media strategy,” says Maria Floud, graduate recruitment manager at Grant Thornton.
The site includes a blog, which is run by a team of six trainees, the content of which is not edited or controlled by management.
The microsite also offers the opportunity to sign up to the Grant Thornton recruitment page on Facebook, which has acquired just under 150 fans since launching. This give potential trainees an opportunity to enter into discussions with current trainees and interns.
